MIST Culture

People in MIST are bridging the differences created by race, language, religion, gender, sexuality or political affiliation and financial background and are creating a new common culture that, embraces the victims worldwide and enables the vulnerable people to recover from debilitating injuries and chronic diseases.

Capacity Building

We work to support the developing world’s surgical centres to move toward self sufficiency in providing excellent health care for the local population, regardless of the race, creed or nationality of the patients and without adverse distinction of any kind.

MIST trains host countries medical personnel in order to develop local health infrastructure, ensuring long-term development by continually monitoring and evaluating the provision of the medical healthcare.

Our cornerstone is Clinical Governance, through which we provide a sustainable (cost-effective) and evidence based care that addresses the individual needs of each patient and accelerates their recovery.

MIST: Our Story

MIST was founded in Manchester, UK in October 2005, in the wake of the devastating South Asian earthquake, providing surgical expertise to the injured in areas of natural and man-made disasters.

From its inception, the main aim was to help the developing world surgical centres to become self sufficient providing excellent health care to the local population. The Foundation has evolved over the years with delivery of medical and nursing education as its core value.
